DIFFERENT WEAVES & THEIR END USES


1. PLAIN WEAVE :-
Plain weave used in Cambric, Muslin, Blanket, Canvas, Dhoti, Sarees, Shirting, Suiting, fabrics etc.
The plain weave finds extensive uses in industry.

2.MATT WEAVE:-
Matt weave finds extensive uses for a great variety of fabrics such as ;
Dress Materials
Shirting
Sail Cloth
Duck Cloth
Matt weave produce decorative appearance on the fabric surface.

3.RIB WEAVE:-
The Rib weave is used to produce Heavy Weight Dresses for Winter Wear &
Garments
Ribbons
Shirting
Sportswear
Boys suits
Uniforms
Dresses

4. TWILL WEAVE:-
Twill weave is used for clothing, accessories, and home goods.
Some popular items;
Denim
Chinos
Work Clothing
Upholstery
Bed & Bath Linens

5. BASKET WEAVE:-
The Basket weave is mainly used for -
Outerwear
Monks Clothing
Draperies
Garments

6. HONEYCOMB WEAVE:-
This weaves is particularly suitable where moisture absorption properties are particularly desired.
Hand Towels, Glass Cloths, Dispensed Roller Towels & Bath Mats.
In coarse cotton quality this weave used for Quilts and Soft Furnishings.
In finer quality Shirts & Brocades.

7. BRIGHTON HONEYCOMB:-
This weave is not very famous as the Ordinary Honeycomb.
Decorative End Uses such as;
Quilts & Brocades
Crockery Towels
In some cases Hand Towels & Glass Cloths. 

8. LENO WEAVE:-
Curtains & Drapery
Firewood Bags
Mosquito Nets
Clothing
Produce bags - Onions, Potatoes, Cabbage.

9. SATIN WEAVE:-
Satin is used in apparel purpose ;
Women's - Lingerie
Nightgowns, Blouses & Evening Gowns  Men - Shorts, Shirts & Neckties
Other uses -  Interior Furnishing Fabrics, Upholstery & Bed Sheets

10. SATEEN WEAVE:-
Sateen weave is comparatively looser structure than plain and twill weave.
Sateen weave is mostly used for Lace production.

11. PILE WEAVE:-
Pile weave fabrics are mainly associated
with Winter wear clothing because of their softness & warmth.
Terry weave fabrics are used for house-ware items for Bath Towels, Mats, Washcloths & Robes, Beachwear cloths.

12. BEDFORD CORD WEAVE:-
Ladies Dress Wear
Sportswear
Heavier qualities like Furnishing
Worsted yarn for Trouser

13. HUCK A BACK WEAVE:-
Huck a back weave mainly used for
Linen & Cotton Towels for Bath Rooms, Linen towels for use as Glass cloths.

14. BACKED CLOTH:-
Backed fabrics used in -
Shawls,
Heavier Dress Materials
Overcoats

15. DOUBLE CLOTH WEAVE:-
Double cloths used in Industrial Applications such as Hose Pipes,
Filter Cloths,
Insulation Fabrics.

16. WELT STRUCTURE:-
Welt structure mainly used in -
Shirting,
Ties and Vesting.

17. JACQUARD WEAVE:-
End Uses of Jacquard fabrics -
Decorative pieces,
Blouses,
Draperies,
Dresses,
Linings,
Trimmings.

18. DOBBY WEAVES:-
End Uses of Dobby Woven Fabrics -
Polo shirts,
Handbags,
Shirts,
Dresses,
Outerwear.
